Operating system Windows
Which driver are you using?
Classic Driver
The printer is constantly shown as offline
FOR DEVICES WITH LAN CONNECTION
The printer is displayed as offline, but responds again when you wake it up using the device keyboard.
This can be caused by SNMP queries that are “empty”. This problem can be solved by disabling the queries in the driver.
Open “Devices and Printers” in the Control Panel.
Right-click on the print object and select the printer properties.
Switch to the Ports tab.
Select the printer port you are using and then click “Configure…”.
Remove the check mark from “SNMP status enabled” and confirm with “OK”.
FOR DEVICES WITH A USB CONNECTION
Check the USB cable. Make sure that it is working properly and is not longer than 1.5 meters. Replace the cable if necessary.
Please disable bidirectional support:
Open “Devices and Printers” in the Control Panel.
Right-click on the printer object and select printer properties.
Switch to the Ports tab.
Uncheck “Enable bidirectional support” and then confirm with “OK”.
Multiple printing not possible
Multiple output is not possible because the RAM disk is disabled or no hard disk is installed. Insufficient RAM or hard disk capacity.
Print error report with [GO].
The following solutions can be attempted here:
RAM DISK is disabled.
The ramdisk is displayed on the status page under “Storage”.
If this is 0KB the RAM disk should be activated:
Menu -> Device general -> RAM DISK mode — OK — On — OK
Menu -> Device general -> RAM DISK mode -> RAM DISK size OK — Set size — OK
Restart device
RAM DISK too small
The job became too large for the RAM DISK and could not be cached.
Either you expand the memory of the device or you deactivate the “Sort” function in the printer driver under Basics.
Functions or sources are not available
Enable the options in the driver settings
The Classic driver does not have automatic detection of options. Please enable the existing options in the settings.
THE OPTIONS CAN BE ENABLED AS FOLLOWS:
Open “Devices and Printers” in the Control Panel.
Right-click on the print object and select printer properties.
Switch to the Device Settings tab.
Under “Installable Options” you can activate the additional options.
The driver loses the settings after restarting the computer
Please check the driver settings and permissions.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
If a printer is distributed through a server, the settings can only be made on this server. Local settings can also be overwritten by the server default values here.
Reinstall the printer driver and also make sure that the permissions on the corresponding registry entries are set correctly.
Especially for printers that are distributed from a server, the settings on the server must be checked.
