Prints have dots, streaks or spots

Please follow the steps below:
 

If print quality is reduced, we recommend the following cleaning steps:

Please switch off the device first using the main switch.

Corona wire cleaning:

  • To do this, first remove the toner cartridge by pressing the blue button and then the drum unit behind it by pulling on the blue handles (D).
    The gray cleaning slider is located on the left side of the drum unit. 
  • First, fold up the gray cover and slide the cleaning slider back and forth across the entire width at least 10 times.
  • Then make sure that the cleaning slider is firmly locked into its leftmost position before reinserting the units into the device in reverse order.

Pale prints

Clear paper jams

The Paper Jam message appears when paper is jammed in the paper transport system or no paper is fed in at all.
The device automatically switches to  offline mode  and the  Warning indicator lights up . The KYOCERA Client Tool can indicate the location of the paper jam.
Remove the paper jam. After the jammed paper is removed, the printer starts printing again.

WLAN connection to MAC OSX

Requirements:

A WLAN-enabled printer or multifunction device, i.e. one with the (w) in the name.

To connect the device to a MAC OSX system via WLAN, the device must first be available in the WLAN.

The best way to do this is to use the WPS method. To do this, you should follow the steps that your router instructs you to do. All you have to do is press the WLAN button on the device.

If you do not have this option, you can set up the device using the client tool. However, you will need a Windows PC to do this as the client tool is only available as a Windows application.

It is important that you then note down the assigned IP address of the device.

Setup on MAC OSX:

Download the latest driver from our website in the Downloads  section .
Select your device under “ Choose an option ” and install the driver on your MAC as usual.

Next, go to “ System Preferences” on your MAC, then to “Printers & Scanners” and
in the window that opens, click on the “+” symbol at the bottom left. In this
window, click on the middle symbol (the globe) at the top.

Under “ Address ” enter the determined IP address of the device. Please set
the “ Protocol” to “Line Print Daemon — LPD” . You can now choose the
name freely. Under
“ Use ” the currently installed driver should now be listed.

Finally, click “ Add”. The device
is now set up and ready to use.

The serial number of the device can be found in the following location, as shown in the figure.

Original Toner

To ensure long-lasting quality, we recommend using only original Kyocera toner containers, as these have to pass numerous quality tests.

If non-original toner is used, this can lead to malfunctions.
We accept no liability for damage caused by using consumables from other suppliers.
Our replacement toner containers are provided with a special sticker as shown below and are therefore recognizable as original consumables.
